Kemi Afolabi Biography
Kemi Afolabi is a Nigerian Yoruba Nollywood actress, who has featured on so many films. She is a film director, producer, and one of the most proficient actresses that we have in the industry. Among the films she has featured in are Obinrin Ale, Oreke Mulero, and Omo pupa.
From 2008-2013, She took a break from acting, leaving the industry for almost 5 years.
Kemi was born on the 28th of April 1978 in Lagos, Nigeria, and is 42years old as of 2022. Her parents are from Ogun State and She’s the first of three children and has two younger brothers.
Education
Kemi began her education at Tunwashe Nursery and Primary School, Ikeja, and she did her secondary education at A-Z International School and Our Lady of Apostles School. She gained admission into the University of Lagos (Unilag) where she bagged a Bachelor’s diploma in Law.
Career
Creative Art students once invited her to participate in their theatre production during her final year at the University of Lagos, which she accepted, it turned out that the presentation was successful for her and she concluded that maybe Acting is her main calling and not law which made her switch to acting as an alternative.
Her first film to feature in was the Yoruba film called “Alagba” however not long after the movie she decided to take a break from the movie industry for almost 5 years.
When she took the break, people thought she was gone forever but never knew that while she was on break, she was busy writing scripts for different films and when she came back, she was set to produce them.
Her production industry is called Kaas and Dee Entertainment, which objective is to create high-quality content that will entertain and educate society.
Different sources have reported how the actress doesn’t home with family. She is not like other entertainers who are always occupied with social life and neglect their families. One thing she enjoys doing is watching her movies because it provides her the opportunity to take corrections and improve on her craft.
Husband & Children
Kemi is married to Wale Adesipe, her lover from the UK and a graduate of Luton’s University of Bedfordshire. According to Kemi, her husband is an engineer and a contractor. Adesipe her husband is also a really quiet person.
They met ten years ago in Ibadan at an engagement ceremony of one of her mates.
They shortly became engaged after becoming friends and in 2008 she got married and was together with her husband before returning to the screen in 2013. When she became pregnant, Adesipe took her to the UK to have the baby and named the child Darasimi.
She recently launched a movie series, called Mo’dorisha which addresses the problems of rape, home violence, and other different things affecting the feminine gender in society.
She revealed that her husband has supplied her with the management and supports she needs as an actress.
Marriage has never slowed her down professionally as an actress. According to her, she is a quiet and easy-going person. She is one to love Quality purses, wristwatches, purses, sneakers, etc, which designer Gucci is her best. She is a wonderful mum, a proficient actress, devoted spouse.
