Career

Zlatan Ibile first considered becoming a musician during his senior year of high school, but it wasn’t until he was a student at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic that he got serious about it. He won the Airtel Nigeria-sponsored One Mic Campus Tour music competition in Abeokuta, Ogun State when he was 19 years old. In 2017, Zlatan rose to prominence in the music industry after releasing “My Body,” which featured renowned Nigerian rapper Olamide. The song became a massive hit, and Zlatan gained widespread recognition as a result. Lawrence Irabo, co-owner of the record label Alleluyah Boiz Entertainment (A.B.E. ), decided to sign Zlatan as a result. Zlatan’s fame increased in 2018 after he collaborated with Chinko Ekun and Lil Kesh on the hit song “Able God.”

Soon after, Zlatan released another popular song titled Zanku, an acronym for “Zlatan Abeg No Kill Us.” It included a dance routine with an identical name. The Zanku dance, also known as “leg work,” quickly gained popularity in Nigeria and other countries. Zlatan released a new song titled “Osanle” in late 2018. Davido, one of the most popular Nigerian artists, was featured. Early in 2019, the rapper and Afrobeats singer Burna Boy recorded “Killin’ Dem,” another hit song together.
