Blossom Chukwujekwu remains one of the most handsome actors in the Nigerian movie industry and that cannot be disputed by any quarters. He is not only handsome but also possesses the needed skills to be rated high in acting. The actor delivers his role excellently, meeting the expectations of movie producers and directors. Little wonder he is one of the most sought-after actors and has risen to prominence since his debut in 2009, winning awards and nominations.

Background and early life

Originally born as Chukwudi Echezona Chukwujekwu on the 4th of November 1983 into the family of Dr. I. E. and Evangelist J. C. Chukwujekwu of Otolo community of Nnewi North, Anambra State, Nigeria. He is the first son in a family of two boys. However, much is not made public about his mom and dad in terms of what they do for a living.

Education

Blossom Chukwujekwu is a graduate of Mass Communication from Benson Idohasa University, Benin City of Edo state. Before then, Blossom attended Greater Tomorrow Primary School and Greater Tomorrow Comprehensive College both in Benin City of Edo state. For tertiary education, Actor Blossom started the journey at Anambra State University of Science And Technology where he got admission to study mass communication but only spent a year there and later moved to Benson Idahosa University to complete his studies and graduated with Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from the institution. While in the university, Blossom handled many positions including President, Association of Mass Communication Students as well as belonging to other groups like a drama house called House of Theatre (HOT) which he personally participated in the stage play.

On graduation and mobilization for the compulsory NYSC, Blossom served in Lagos State, and on completion, he stayed back in the state to pursue his acting ambition.

Career

After attending series of auditions, Blossom made his professional debut in 2009 when he got a role in the soap opera titled “Portrait of Passion” and within the same year, he got another role in a movie which starred actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Ramsey Nouah titled Private Storm. That appearance earned him a profile on African Magic Nollywood Show called Jara. The profiling portrayed him as one of the actors to watch out for. In 2012, he played a role in Flower Girl and that movie was his break out. The movie achieved success across Nigeria, Ghana, United Kingdom, and in film festivals in the United States and Canada.

After Flower Girl, he acted in another blockbuster movie “Finding Mercy” which recorded massive success as well.  Another popular movie he acted in was Knocking on Heaven’s Door which earned him an award by the African Magic Viewers’ Choice Award as the Best Supporting Actor in 2014.

After gaining prominence, actor Blossom has appeared in so many other movies, TV Dramas, and Series and acted alongside popular actors and actresses such as Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Ramsey Nouah, Nse Ikpe Etim, Yvonne Okoro, Majid Michel,  Rita Dominic, Monalisa Chinda, and many others.

Some of his movies include Flower Girl, Knocking On Heaven’s Door, Finding Mercy, Ghana Must Go, A Place Called Palace, and About To Wed. TV Series include Tinsel, Shuga, My Mom & I, and more.

Marriage

Blossom Chukwujekwu got married to Maureen Esisi in 2015 whom many believed were friends before they got married. However, 4 years after, things took a different twist when the marriage was announced to have crashed. Although the marriage produced a lovely child (daughter), the crash was a sad development for the Nollywood community and the general society. 3 years on, actor Blossom got married to a new wife, Winifred Akhuemokhan who is said to be a niece to the Senior Pastor and Founder of LoveWorld Evangelical Mission also known as Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome on 20th May 2020 in Benin City, Edo State.
